1. I admit that I have lived
For ages and ages

2. And that I have witnessed fire
Lead clay to disobedience

3. And what befell Eve
And Adam after they fell

4. And that from the ship
I saw polytheism like a flood

5. And that I was in Aad
As they built their structure

6. They were the harshest of beings
In wrath and rule

7. And they had a brother who called
To God but they did not bend

8. So I believed in what he brought
And my faith grew

9. And I saw Islam take
The people's youth as followers

10. Until the wind came
And their loss became corpses

11. And the people spent the night
Prisoners, their doors read “has been”

12. And blindness sits atop their heights
Spewing forgetfulness

13. I admit I still weep
For the people of Sodom

14. Aad exceeded limits
In engineering and construction

15. And the people grew weary
Of a proof that cast shade

16. So what use are you, O knowledge?!
You accepted ignorance as master?!

17. Glory to Him who gave life
And maintained and exalted our affair

18. And I no longer see people
As if creation never was

19. And with their caliphs as they
Make rock into homes

20. And their arrogance disturbed me
As they walked the earth blindly

21. And a brother came to them calling
To truth but they did not bend

22. So I believed in him when
Kindness was revealed as pardon

23. And I took refuge in my Creator when
Separation was revealed as loss

24. And I was certain that truth
Is victorious though it suffers

25. And that if injustice travels
On it, it travels a human

26. And that arrogance today
Tomorrow is subdued in submission

27. And that humility today
Tomorrow is rewarded with kindness

28. And I no longer see people
As if creation never was

29. And I came with those who gathered
The two crowns' countries

30. And I said poetry when
The eagle twisted the snake

31. So Egypt was born a mother sending off
History's melodies

32. And I was killed in love of Syria
And I have no regrets

33. I found people there dressing
People in crowns

34. And they said: "Honor is to those in Syria
No humiliation or disgrace"

35. And I visited Nineveh
And Ugarit sometimes

36. And I taught letters
To all people for free

37. We empowered with Egypt and Syria
And lifted humanity and jinn

38. I admit I accompanied
Pharaoh and Haman

39. And I witnessed the people
In clothing of colors

40. And Aaron, Moses and the staff
And magic brought from someone

41. So I believed in him when his staff
Turned into a snake

42. And Pharaoh did not believe
So injustice lasted as long as humans

43. Until the sea folded
The people's story in clarity

44. I admit I walked behind
The Messiah humbly

45. And I witnessed the cross
When the betrayer perished

46. And I am the third of two
Money's luxury denied

47. So I called upon the heavens when
The deprived cried out in recognition

48. And the seventh of six who
Hid in the cave at Amman

49. And I died and now
Satan and I are human

50. So sometimes hearing Al-Mustafa
Reciting Quran revives me

51. And I realized that life
Is a plant whose flower bloomed

52. And that the heart is a wound not yet healed
And wellness has come

53. And I realized poetry
Is a house that welcomes meaning

54. The Quran came as a miracle
The Quran walked as a human

55. And a love appeared thirsty
For Ahmad it became plentiful

56. And for love we listened when
His master became our master

57. So stand against those who
Insult much out of rancor

58. No human has been harmed
As much as I since creation

59. And I unlike others inherited
Jerusalem and Canaan

60. And whoever saw the people of heaven
Building their castles

61. I admit I was related
To Adnan and Qahtan

62. And I inherited fertility, merit,
And Luqman

63. And I still live
Roaming the ages perplexed

64. We still have provision
To pay the prices

65. I accompanied injustice as a human
I accompanied truth as faith

66. Injustice's faces multiplied
And truth's face is steadfast

67. I say to those who tyrannized earth
And grew arrogant like Satan

68. Were you Thamud or Aad!
I knew you less than them
