1. Oh, if only I were a planet, disappearing
Among the stars, restless, not settling

2. With no place I'd reside or grief dissolving me
With no youth I'd aspire or old age making me wilt

3. No death I'd fear speaking of or life causing me to grieve
No past testing me or present with miserable living

4. I'd accompany the star in space, roaming
As it roams surrounded by the universe's directions

5. And ascend into the dome of the sky
Calling unto Allah, and He answers my plea

6. I wouldn't blame myself confusedly since
I have no sin that I'd repent doing

7. I'm tired of staying on an earth filled with
Breaths of sins

8. And how I wished to part so I'd return guided
By the people of heaven

9. And here I am, again in the sky where
Paths lead me

10. Where I discern a man of my name
Like the sun that never sets

11. This is me since I was created, a light
With clear light even for the blind

12. With no dust that would make me
Go hungry or thirsty or wretched

13. No worry at night is my shelter
Nor any illness I'd complain of

14. No war I'd be kindling by night
No peace where I'd be harmed

15. With no tongue, heart speaking of it
With its love the hearts blaspheme

16. I wouldn't resemble the wicked who rave
Or a live coal whose quest goes wasted

17. Since I hated both together for
Both are ungrateful liars

18. And how much I wished to return
To my sky and never come back

19. And here I am, again in its
Expanse, my life now pleasant

20. Glorifying Allah at day break
With none after Him setting

21. On a journey, long is its course
To a paradise, pleasant its living

22. Alas, no kin envies me
Alas, no stranger hates me

23. Gaze upon me with eyes in which my
Bliss shows, did the beloved bid farewell?
