1. In this world we suffer sorrows and griefs
That truly cause anguish if portrayed

2. Yet we prefer our world even decorated with
Fates that war against loving others

3. And we care for what we never attained
Rejoicing at the fleeting, going to waste

4. If we were to heed the advice bestowed upon us
And our departed fathers and sons before us

5. We mourn our dead with weeping and burning
Then return relieved after sometime

6. And bid farewell to one whose face was stingy
Now a dark, lonely grave under the ground

7. Neighboring, with no connection between them
The loneliest neighbor, no one close by

8. We fight over their inheritance before burial
As if death has not come for us too in time

9. Our hopes and gardens laughed at us
Our firsts were not a lesson for our lasts

10. How strange is the dead who visited the dead
Eulogized the deceased before him in verse

11. Dead fathers, aged and young alike
What great destiny in dividing the ruins

12. And in the grave, except the share of the lowly
The highly esteemed rushed to a hole

13. Whose sight in Damascus was significant
O oblivious of what is intended for him

14. I see you slumbering, dead awake
The carriers of death raced toward you

15. And brought their rides in front of you
After the eighty-two years of Ibn Thani, Omaira

16. You wish for life or rest from it
Death has added to his provision after habit

17. Even if he did not reach an age of possibility
It added, so he read wisdom, intelligence

18. Knowledge, success, wisdom and kindness
A young man whose eras were vessels for his dream

19. Which would not contain him if the times increased
He was the head of time’s face, tongue, hearing and mind

20. Guiding humanity and mankind
Proof of the life of religion in us was his life

21. Their death a shared death, and whoever betrayed that pact
Whoever rejoiced that knowledge passes thus

22. Openly, even if blind of heart and sight
If he was vile and corrupted was his wisdom

23. He was most certainly enlightened and evidence
A wise man whose heart sees what eyes cannot

24. His essence shows the conscience openly
Generous, guests fill his courtyard

25. Pilgrims of God’s house, welcoming visitors
Wise, with the essence of intellect clever

26. With a mold of thought forging faith
He left, loved in every heart

27. All creation took that love for God as their religion
His name is honored among angels in the sky

28. And those settled on earth, God placed it
He left, in every club with manners

29. Diffusing musk in publishing and creation
He left pure in sleep, wakefulness and slumber

30. In body, heart, then pocket and chest
He left after guiding to the path of guidance

31. And broke idols and removed statues
He disciplined hearts that strayed

32. And souls that gained from his teachings contentment
So who remains for the origins of religion after Omaira

33. For demise has uprooted origin and branches
And who remains for the disciplines of knowledge to gather its diversity

34. And place them in hearts and bodies
How many blind hearts he guided with guidance

35. How many deaf he healed and the blind he made seeing
Knowledge, wisdom and piety will weep for him

36. Even if he is for The All-Dominant an offering
Books and the pen that extended for him

37. In the field of composition its range will weep for him
He dwelled a mountain from the family of Fahar bin Ghalib

38. Most venerable and the less swollen of the line of Adnan
I console his family, the house of Muhammad

39. Consoling Mudar, Qahtan, the crimson
How can one who when mourning is mentioned

40. Gasps for air and the sorrowful cry out console
I am the devoted, grieving for him, so O Hashimites

41. Do you have a remedy to cure this languishing
I wish you had buried Omaira before me

42. So I cast my eyelids over his sides
I see you surrendered him to the earth

43. While my heart more rightfully than the soil was his
If only my blood had been the ingredients of his perfume

44. My skin, if only it were his shroud
To the Most Merciful’s mercy he traveled

45. Provisioned for the Gathering with amnesty and pardon
He settled in an abode he had ruined

46. Barren as Sheba’s wondrous homelands
He quenched it with life in plenty, drink and rain

47. Shade, dew, drizzle, downpour and flooding
Had he kept with us sorrow like he kept

48. Goodness with people, that would be just
If not for hope in those remaining, I would die of regret

49. But after rain, the meadow grazes once more
O Hashimites virtues have overwhelmed you

50. Condolences and patience are the most profitable prices
You are towering, steadfast mountains

51. Oceans of knowledge, the suns of our world
You remain and through you our world is paradise

52. Your care in it like that of the blissful Saana
Omaira traveled seeking the Most Merciful’s mercy
