1. The calamity is most heartbreaking when tears flow
And disasters most terrible when ribs are crushed

2. This is the great news that cracked
All hearts because of its impact, shattering them

3. Due to its position and the enormity of its descent
The stars in the sky almost fell and collapsed

4. Alas! There is no calamity like yours, O Ahmed
That could possibly become widespread in both worlds

5. One whose glory in farewell was radiant
And exalted, so he looked upon this farewell

6. The dew and glory died with you, O Ahmed
And took the place where you settled, deserted

7. Oh! What grief for his loss, O Ahmed
It has become terrible for all people

8. Its tribulations are great, the gravity of its fall
As if it had been marvelous within you

9. No eyelid but has cried or pupil
That has not been cut to pieces weeping for you

10. No heart but is tossed in anguish
Grieving for you, burning and heaving with sighs

11. They went out with your bier, and the highlands and their daughters
Escorted it while the dew bid farewell

12. As if they were the swoons of Moses when
The mountain was cut off, falling at Al-Za’ir

13. And the wailing women in its trail, as if
They were the slain, felled by death blows

14. Even the doves above you, O pride of the highlands
Double their cooing above the branches in eulogy

15. Having forgotten, after your death O Ahmed
The arrhythmic cooing, now redoubling their lament

16. Echoing their lament above the branches
While grief exposes their sincere wailing

17. If only wailing could avail to bewail you, by
The Most High, O son of honored ones altogether

18. If you have become covered in soil
Then your praiseworthy character lived, spreading

19. And remembrance is the life of the excellent youth
If he passed away, felled in the cup of pigeons

20. Long have you provided for a family
And prevented the wronged, being most charitable

21. And long have you gathered the separated
And scattered an enemy army, assembled

22. You were of an opinion that distracted
The turns of time from you, and the enemy troops

23. Your patience was vast, encompassing all people
And you drank the bitter trials, gulping them down

24. You revived Qindeh, while she was captive to her walls
And made their crooked path straight, smoothing it out

25. Oman was your steed, and she had no
Deceiver touch her, nor any deceiver

26. You protected her, guarding her like a groom his bride
So her protector in you has become forbidden

27. Today you have bid her farewell, she does not know
What she will face after your stored farewell

28. Her homes are deserted without you, that you had inhabited
And the homes whose surfaces have become barren nurslings

29. You dwelled with a people you will never
Visit again, so that communing with them is now difficult

30. Imprisoned in every narrow grave
With no righteousness, so they see no intercessor

31. Awaiting the first blast of the trumpet
That they may gush forth to the flowing river of the Prophet

32. Those before us embarked ahead
While we are the later group, traveling fast

33. And death is the door we all must pass through
We know not who in the house was the first to go

34. Our hopes laughed at our deeds
Until they left us deluded and deceived

35. The world is to us a place of living
While we are a flock that still roams around its pastures

36. And death is like a hunter, lying in wait for us
We did not know except that it fell upon the ropes

37. You remained by your grave, O Ahmed, sad
Shedding tears the length of time in streams

38. Watering you, and your neighbors all around
Whenever the darkness cleared, the dawn rose over you again

39. As if her falling tears were generosity
To you, from your hands the springs flowed for us

40. You died in glory, yet your children are excellent heirs
By you, the House of Al has been erected sublime

41. And Muhammad and Hubba, the springtime spring
Honored by four mountains, seas

42. A sword unsheathed against the enemy throngs
Suleiman wears the necklaces as this

43. Tribe wields its gleaming swords
To them time is long in generosity

44. And vigor, clashing each week
I have dressed their chests in coats of mail

45. Against what disgraces the beautiful, as armor
Those who protect Oman from what she dreaded

46. So that by them the slain became impenetrable
My son Mu’ayyad Ahmad, be patient

47. For the loss of the righteous father, the consummate artisan
He only died after he trained you

48. To exceed in the field of excellence, frightening others
I offer you and all of Qindeh condolences

49. While I share in your pain and agony
O people of Qindeh, I pray for you all

50. And you are all listening to my prayer
Beware infiltrators who come between you

51. With wickedness, leaving the eminent degraded
Verily the enemy’s covert maneuvers

52. Are like poison in water, it became an extract
And some are like snakes, hiding and lurking

53. None knowing until it has struck them fatally
Leave the envious to die of spite

54. As if he is the torn garment of a debauched one
You, O people of Qindeh, if the

55. Children of Ahmed call you, be obedient
Without them your enemies would have seized you

56. And your mighty ones would thus be captive
The group is with the leader, so if

57. His foot slips, they all hasten, fervent and zealous
And so leadership, its strength and sublimity

58. Remain perpetual in its cycles, followed
Be guides to each other if

59. Time turns with its people inclining
You are the children of the estates of Qindeh that

60. Have been purified through you, origin and branches
If you repel the plots of the enemy with fierceness

61. Your protectorate remains fertile, copious
I have advised you sincere counsel

62. That the aged and young may find wholesome
And if the bow is like its example

63. It will be severed at the bow, mutilated
If you heed me, in the end you will thank me

64. For the mind of the wise always remains pliant
O people of Qindeh, your garden of glory will

65. Stay beautiful with your unity, compliant
There is no elegant luxuriance like your bliss

66. And what plentiful meadows God has apportioned for you
And bless the Prophet Muhammad

67. However long the pilgrim circles the Sacred House
