1. Patience is a virtue, so be patient
O soul, even if the taste of patience is like bitterness

2. He who does not accept fate, it forces him
To face adversity, as destiny decrees

3. He who does not advise himself and take a lesson
Lives ignorantly night and day

4. He whose thoughts do not yield beneficial fruit
Ends up fruitless, neither leaves nor fruit

5. He who does not gauge hardships on the path
Meets calamities beyond his sight

6. He whose mind is not mature finds
The paths of salvation difficult and is lost

7. He who does not see the unseen as present
Is disgraced and belittled

8. He who is ruled by greed, no matter his life
Is led to a dreadful place that pains the heart

9. He who does not prepare good provisions
Sees disgrace, evil companions on the journey

10. He who knows not of death is ignorant of
The paths of salvation, sight is not like experience

11. O ignorant fool in times
That show you long weeping and sorrow in old age

12. You are heedless and play, hoping for what you wish
Alas, the blind do not foresee

13. You hoard money in cellars greedily
For your wife's lover, a nothing in mankind

14. And the husband of your daughter or your son's wife
O fool, it is a delusion like snakes in a lair

15. If you had sense or sight
You would not accept this, you have no insight

16. Or if you considered the past, you would not
Accept this, but you do not take heed

17. I see you accept your religion to be
Defiled and your clothes washed of filth

18. You hope for salvation but do not take its paths
The sun does not rise in the rainy constellation

19. You ask God for your share of His bounty
Yet you do what brings you nearer to hell

20. You claim to love the Creator yet you
Are the worst enemy, disobeying and sinning

21. If your words were true, you would not obey
The whims of Satan, your self, this vain life

22. You would sincerely devote your religion to God
Not hoping like the misguided leaders

23. You are like one wishing to grasp a star
His hand returns empty and futile

24. Woe to one whose deeds seem good
Yet he lives by them, not apologizing

25. Blindness is not in the eyes. True blindness -
Blinds hearts from reason and insight

26. Reason is an image of light, if the darkness
Of clouds covers it, it cannot shine

27. Seeing what is subtle and hidden
This world is merely our pasture

28. And we like cattle, grazing its blooms
And death like the lurking hunter, we expect

29. His snares in a pit of graves
The death of insects and the death of lions

30. Not like the death of crawling ants
Why do we persist in the abode of passion

31. Distracted from the One, racing to the full moon
Passion leads us and death drives us

32. From those we love, their traces and ruins
You will leave it an arid wasteland

33. Though we were banned from even a fingernail
What we gathered for this life disperses

34. What we built not for long endures
Man lives afflicted by calamities

35. If he dies, he belongs to soil and stone
Every end is to hell

36. Except with the Almighty King in heaven
O You who hears the calls of those in need

37. To You I pray, absolve me of my burden
Maybe a glance of kindness will save me

38. From what my sight will suffer tomorrow
Maybe mercy at the Gathering will revive me

39. From the pit of sin, my cloak strengthened
