1. He was content with what the Creator decreed and obliged us
We do not complain of the flow of fate or time

2. We are slaves, His will was done in us
We do not say the hated or the time

3. To God, His rulings have flowed in us and judged
The letters of destiny, without action we tied

4. Indeed, the destinies in us judge us
Death of the young and survival of elders and time

5. And God's wisdom, minds did not grasp it
This life of ours and that nearing death

6. The healthy died and the worn out survived and
A child dies and an old with white hair remains

7. And whoever lived beyond his peers, his
Eyes were hurt since he parted his peers

8. No harm upon the free honorable if
He dislikes whom he befriends and matches

9. Thank God I lived in a time
Which in its ugliness, I wish I wouldn't be

10. I saw what my eyes disliked and
My soul refused though the rational mind may be tested with evils

11. I threw truces at it but did not gain
Alas, time if I made truce with it, a truce

12. If it was easy it harmed, and if it gave extra
It destroyed it, and when did it turn to consent a newcomer

13. How many asleep, happy in the night
While behind him in his grave, buried

14. O wonders, our origin we bury
Yet our branch, to the next we move

15. How is pleasure the consequence of those in a time
We lived in, and the purity of life, how is it here

16. Did you see, when the origin died and the
Branch remained, that in it we become constructed

17. We build and plant in the world and settle what
Builds except us, and from the planting of hands, harvest

18. Our hopes so upon our deeds, laughed
Since it realized that the world is mere hopes

19. We forget and amuse with deceptive hopes
We did not know what beyond is intended for us

20. We herd the hopes’ pasture until when
Swelling dunes carried, so fright seizes us

21. As if we are a flock grazing flowers
Frightened by the hunter's news hidden from us

22. And death like the hunter, ropes concealed
We did not know except shackled by our necks

23. Until when am I deluded with wishful thinking
Doing the useless in the abode of annihilation

24. I wish I could ransom he who
I have locked with stones and stacked bricks upon his ribs

25. I washed him with tears atop him and I wished
If only his eyelids were for him eyelids

26. So in my heart is a place that still in it
My tears for him always moan

27. It revived for me like the revival of an ulcer that peeled
And did not water its friendship neither easy nor sad times

28. The prolonged crying for him, I could not with it
Except sorrow, burning pain that hurts me and squeezes me

29. Alas, crying does not avail he whose return
Is not hoped for, nor does patience erase sadness

30. If crying the dead was beneficial, I would have cried for him
With tears that ulcerate the eyelids and cheeks

31. Who would have mercy on me after him, saddened over him and
I lost in him the sweetness of life and intimacy

32. His nature renewed remembering him so it became
For the lover in me over losing him, a resolve

33. Whenever I remembered manners that melt
My liver for him and the sadness of my separation from him breaks bones

34. Manners like the purity of water, clear
To the companion so no saltiness nor bitterness

35. Sweet fellowship in distance and proximity
And not three years with them we aged

36. It was from his mind that he answered his questions
This for you is the duty so keep to it and this we legislated

37. He recited from the text and narrations, supporting them
It suffices me, and he may recite poetry well constructed

38. It is as if the manners of Jesus were imprinted in him
If he shook a trunk, he would pick from it as picked

39. To God he came with no sin, nor caution
Of punishment, nor shame, nor lowliness

40. Above what is above sorrows, carried me
Until my determination and body became thin over him

41. Death of the young in the hearts of the old told
A fire of grief burning for it and intimacy

42. My Protector, may the world and hereafter
Make me forget the meaningful, his beautiful face

43. O mother, hold on to God and be patient
God will reward you for him forgiveness and bounty

44. Do not mention of him a description nor manners
So your eyes may rest after prolonged insomnia

45. So may God erase this sadness from you and
From me and from others than what we have accustomed

46. For grief erases grief like ink when
It flows on paper so the ink melts

47. My Master, Abu Khursayn left me
After him aimless, so ask the settlers

48. Perhaps your kindness makes me forget his manners
As long as I live and pardoning me dispels injustice

49. And Paradise, my Master, make it
For us when we meet with you all a homeland

50. In bliss and eternal joy and pleasure
We neighbor the Chosen One, our Master Prophet

51. From You prayers and peace upon him
As long as pilgrims moved in the pass of Mina

52. Then the two lying down, then the followers of them
And followers of the followers, the leaders
