1. O you who drinks from the cup of slumber's wine
And spends your life prolonging the reverie

2. If your fear of God matched a fingernail's worth
Of the fear all people have of God on high

3. You'd not live a confused, perplexed existence
Coming and going without purpose or glee

4. Matters would o’erwhelm you like darkness of night
Blinding the path and moral propriety

5. You cure sins with more sins, as if to erase
Ink with more ink, sinking in obscenity

6. Your clothes, you don't mind how low they may fall
Your faith, like a cloak, trails in indignity

7. You hope to be saved, yet walk the wrong way
Like sailing a ship over dry land does flee

8. You find joy in wealth and monetary excess
Though in earnings lies partnership with Satan's seed

9. You seek to fix the home of vice and sin
By vice and sin, which makes the problem stampede

10. You hope for eternity in the home of death
While you and yours are destined for the decree

11. Of being covered by soil, and trapped by the earth
Haven't you learned from past generations, long gone?

12. Like 'Aad and Thamud, tribes erased from this earth
And where are the kings of the tribe of Hamir?

13. Or the sons of Ma'add and clan of Hud?
And where is he who ruled both East and West

14. And lived two thousand years in endurance, as stud?
And where is he who led conquests galore

15. For seventy years, fulfilling his wish and good?
And where is he whose generosity did flow

16. That both his sheaths spilled forth in plentitude?
And where is he who gathered armies so wide

17. The land itself barely contained the brood?
And where are those kings of earthly abode

18. In whose court gathered all tribes, rural and urban?
And where is he whose palace the winds

19. Swept for months on end without his intrusion?
And where is Abu Al-Qasim Al-Mustafa

20. And his companions, glories of the dunes and burden?
If immortality could be granted a man

21. It would be the Prophet, intercessor for all women and men
Blessings and peace be upon him for as long

22. As the new moon returns to orbit its cycle again
So beware, o you who trails the train of wickedness

23. And mounts the steed of transgression without end
Do you not see the lesson in your graying temples?

24. Whiteness that turns to blackness as time does extend
Gray hair only shows the way to decline

25. So honor it as guide before your life does end
Lo, the camels of departure now kneel down

26. The caller calls, time to leave does impend
The camels of ruin are ready, death nears

27. Urged by gray hair, galloping quick to amend
The righteous have prepared supplies for their journey

28. While you wander without provision to defend
So stand, perform good deeds, take guidance

29. And follow the path of truth without apprehend
Death will pay a visit, both near and afar

30. You'll sip the cup of woes by force it will send
You'll reside inside a narrow, desolate tomb

31. With hard, unfeeling rocks as your bosom and friend
Then, after that, a gathering you can't escape

32. Where God will collect all souls without amend
So prepare answers for judgment day

33. Beware being unprepared when your life does end
A day when all your deeds will be reviewed

34. Like merchants assess accounts without offend
You'll be given a book containing all that you did

35. Recording triumphs and sins until the end
Oh happy are they whose good deeds fill their book

36. That God accepts with pleasure when time does transcend
They'll be led to a paradise as wide as the skies

37. And breadth of all the earth a soul can comprehend
With lofty mansions built of musk and camphor

38. Studded with gems, delighting the soul within
By each fountain lies a maid of paradise

39. Like a gazelle, darling of heart and bosomfriend
Seventy thousand maids come to each

40. Friend of God, delightful and without end
Should a man taste one, she'll return anew

41. As if he's never touched her or known her amend
Therein are rivers of wine and honey and milk

42. Flowing abundant, no thirst shells offend
Fruits available, whatever the soul desires

43. By will of The Preserver, nothing denied or rescind
No sleepiness, boredom, gloom or fatigue

44. Nothing to beware or bodies that need mend
Angels greet them with peace at every gate

45. A gathering for all, by accounts we comprehend
When they disperse, they mount horses to roam

46. No sadness or darkness their joy does impend
And it's said unto them, "In this paradise await

47. Seas in which ships can sail like stars that ascend"
For them this is blissful pleasure

48. As all their desires are answered without end
Such is their profit from trade in the mortal world

49. Unlike failed markets where loss does extend
But those whose book of deeds their left hand contains

50. Are wretched souls, whose actions God does condemn
On a day the winds blew left, scattering their virtues

51. Into an abyss leaving naught to defend
They are driven to hell, evil their escort

52. What an awful escort to that place does send!
Dragged in shackles of iron that sparks igniting

53. Their skin is peeled, seventy folds without amend
They are made to drink festering pus and boiling water

54. Never soothing their agony that does impend
Bitten by serpents inflicting dreadful stings

55. Torn by beasts while they silently apprehend
Mountains are uplifted and dashed o’er their heads

56. Crushing them as they fall without pretend
They are flung deep within its pits and crevices

57. Falling for years into valleys that never end
They cry out in agony but no one answers

58. Even if they called out for years without end
Beneath them shade of smoke, above scorching embers

59. Their only comfort, alas, is to comprehend
Woe that they met their miserable fate

60. With no savior to offer amended mend
They wish, even for an hour, they might

61. Ransom themselves from this justice so cruel, not pretend
"Oh, would that I'd never been born!" they bemoan

62. "Would that for an hour I might life's course rescind
And return to undo what I spent wrongly doing!"

63. They weep, but find no compassionate friend
"O Malik!" they implore the guarding angel

64. "Beg the Lord of Grace for mercy without end!"
But Malik strikes them down with iron as they wail

65. And return to the blaze that does increasingly offend
Such is the fate of the wretched sinner

66. With no reprieve or hope his agony might amend
I seek refuge in You, O Creator mine

67. Save me from the terrors of that frightening day impend
See, now I repent of all the wrongs I have done

68. Grant me pardon for the sins that my soul did send
Guide me rightly in the time yet before me

69. In You, my God, all my trust and hopes depend
The burden of my sins weighs heavily on me

70. Your mercy guide me upon the path You recommend
Forgive Your servant, my God so gracious

71. Show clemency beyond what I comprehend
Grant me in Your pardon life in death that awaits

72. Protect me from every enemy that does intend
Send blessings upon Ahmad Al-Mustafa

73. Intercessor of servants, guide that our hearts can apprehend
And his family, and the followers abiding

74. Oceans of light, lions that malice does offend
