1. When we pass by the graves one hour,
We laugh to preserve the joy against sadness.

2. We carried hopes above our litters,
Playing the game of passing time alone.

3. The world adorned for us what pleases us
With its solemn view and its tempting decline.

4. We laughed at deeds, our hopes in them
Like the laughing of playful sunbeams on barren hills.

5. Why is this caravan bound for the resurrection, O protector,
When none guided but by its leading guide.

6. May the delegation find God pleased, for we
Hope He would reward the delegation.

7. O lion of the Creator, we console you, grief
Has in us, from you, exceeded the limit.

8. So your sorrow, O light of the Abadis, burns
The spirit attached to us, not the skin.

9. We shared the grief until we took most of it
If poured in the cave, it would have burned the plateau.

10. May you - thanks to God - ask Him to be pleased
With us and you, so we win praise.

11. The grave of one who quenched with tears
Has watered the plains, honest in lightning and thunder.

12. And it waters graves around it, a mercy from him,
Faithful, faithful, of unchanging covenant.

13. And God's favors escorted him after
He met with what pleases to the eternal garden.

14. And God prayed upon him after Muhammad
The prophet of guidance, leader, son of Amina the rightly-guided.
