1. Stop, O travellers, we bid you farewell
With praise for the Chosen One, continuously praised

2. Individually and in pairs, chant his virtues, for I
Am eager for you, not in threes or pairs

3. With him we expressed our hearts through our mouths
And through him our sincerity stood in for us

4. Take him in place of a crown above your heads
Out of reverence for the one who praises you though not us

5. His lights and aroma guide you
So do not split apart in anguish or fear the night

6. The aroma of musk bursts forth when it moves
When your singer sings his praises during the night journey

7. And it is no wonder that the staff was planted for him
When the singer's mouth was filled with praise for him the ear

8. It is as if the staff's engraving when they engraved it
Every unknown thing from the oily fat

9. So if you rise with him then speak well
Sorrow will leave you if you seek his protection from sorrow

10. For if the banners of Mecca shine among you
Like the rising of Suhail, be quick to pray for us

11. And circumambulate with him, then finish
With him and wash in the spring and face the corner

12. And recognise your reward in Arafat
Proclaim him among the gathering, you will be granted safety

13. And when you supplicate, remember me
For I am bound by sins that crush the neck and palms

14. Perhaps my God will pardon me
With his kindness and have mercy on me so I may meet fairness with the right hand

15. So when you complete your Hajj and Umrah
Return to Taybah, avoiding all sin and love

16. The companions of the night journey went to the grave of Muhammad
We are heading there while the seekers are behind them

17. Rest your cheeks on his cheeks at Al-Kauthar
Above his head from the light of the sun at dawn most radiant

18. And fall upon your faces over his grave
As Musa fell prostrating with awe, splitting the sea

19. And say to your eyes, say though they have shed
Tears over our misfortunes, with what we possess, they were quenched

20. And stand in humility, and state openly
What you have of him, and what has reached you from us

21. And say, "Peace be upon you, O you who
The water flowed copiously from over there and over here"

22. Upon you is the peace of Allah, O you who
The full moon split open and donned the burdah

23. Upon you is the peace of Allah, O you to whom
The doe spoke clear words and meaning

24. Upon you is the peace of Allah, O the best Messenger
To creation, neither human nor jinn excludes

25. Upon you is the peace of Allah, O you who
A wooden staff resembling a succulent branch revived him

26. Muhammad is the best of Messengers, the last of them
And the foremost in virtue and the earliest to believe

27. We came to you sometimes driving away the enemy with the night journey
And sometimes the ships in the sea make way for you

28. We supposed, so we thought well, and the winner
Of attaining your help, the bountiful from good thoughts

29. For you, O best of Prophets, are to a person
Of pure sincerity towards you, so he does not suffer loss

30. To you we came, and the destination is to our Lord
For to Him we will return, and He is most worthy of guiding us
