1. With a brave and experienced heart I have a weakness for sin
And I have a logic against the chaste heart

2. Can these two be equal in joy?
So one of the two smallest must be wrong

3. They say to me, you are witty, and whoever
Takes the lead in sin cannot be witty

4. Be strong in acquiring sins, while I
Am weak in lasting good deeds

5. My clothes have never ceased being soiled
With my sin, yet I wear them clean

6. For my sin is unabated
While my good deeds are paltry

7. Others are charged with righteousness among people
While I am tasked with pursuing ruin

8. I will regret the sins of youth with repentance
In my old age, and my old age with remorse

9. So I have lived as if I never
Ceased a moment to ally with abhorrent sin

10. As if on my path it has no fear
And my course to good action is fearful

11. I have never aspired to good with pride
While I am gentle towards my destructive ways

12. Weighty when they strive for righteousness, so take the lead
While I am quick to the opposite of righteousness

13. I am addicted to the wine of sins
And abstain from the water of righteousness

14. I wander the doors of sins as if I
Make circuits of veneration in pilgrimage

15. And I have an open field towards sin
While I harvest the fruits of the devout

16. To what extent I suffer this and that, and for misguidance
I have runways leading me to it

17. Shall I satisfy my lifetime, and lifetime is an hour
By drinking deep of the wine of sins?

18. And lose the religion of God's creation after that
The despised endeavor for sins crowding me

19. My soul is to me a lesson - what a lesson!
And for it I have a place to chide

20. When my origin and branch die out
What remains for me but a twig twisted by fate?

21. Behold, for calamities I am but remnants
As if deafened by misfortunes, blinded

22. No pang tells a pang of sin
Nor am I weary of pursuing ruin

23. To You, O God, belong my hopes and prayers
For I have paltry deeds of old

24. And from my good opinion of You, even if disobedient
You are gentle with me when I do wrong

25. And if I have intimacy with You, O God
You are Merciful since You are called Most Compassionate

26. The wind of sin is stilled by Your subtle kindness
Even if it blows as storms of sins

27. Stretching my hands to Your threshold bending
In every instant has my waiting at Your door been sweet

28. Even if bitterness and winter passed during it
O Lord, O You who cannot be bounded by description

29. You are exalted beyond the extent of speech and clouds
You are the Powerful, the Just in anger and pleasure

30. While I am of meager stratagems, weak
I have been impassioned with love of You, hoping for honor

31. And he of ample hope, desiring Your approval, is fervent
Perhaps a mercy by which I am redeemed from disgrace

32. And of the outpouring of Your beauty I shall speak well
If You do not have mercy on my humility and lowliness

33. Sorrow and misery shall not part from me
By Your firm bond I clung, that I may have

34. Through it a protector from what I fear
And by the Muṣṭafā, the guide to You, is my supplication

35. For I am bound to love of the Muṣṭafā
Upon him a prayer from You, every gleam covered

36. By a veil, shroud, ah, and clouds
