1. When I find fault with her, I liken her to the rising full moon,
And let it suffice you as a fault in her, her likeness to the full moon.
١. إِذا عِبتُها شَبَّهتُها البَدرَ طالِعاً
وَحَسبُكِ مِن عَيبٍ لَها شَبَهُ البَدرِ

٣. إِذا ما مَشَت شِبراً مِنَ الأَرضِ أَرجَفَت
مِنَ البُهرِ حَتّى ما تَزيدُ عَلى شِبرِ

And a slender waist wrapped tightly like a twig.
٤. لَها كَفَلٌ يَرتَجُّ مِنها إِذا مَشَت
وَمَتنٌ كَغِصنِ البانِ مُضطَمِّرُ الخَصرِ
