1. A vision from Sulaima passed by and lingered,

2. Will you be given hope of comfort and flowing water,
And relief from you that has come near?

ูููู ููุฑูุจู ููุฏ ุฃูุชู
3. It follows a lost one like a free-roaming horse,
When bindings are loosened for it to roam.

ูุช ุญููุงุฆููู ูููู ุณูู

4. So it is a father to this one and a son to that,
At Thajr, or Taima, or Wadi al-Qura.

ุงุกู ุฃูู ูุงุฏู ุงูููุฑู
5. It kept away sleep and denied us wishes,
So I said, โWelcome to the vision as it traveled on

ูููููุชู ุฃูููุงู ุจูุงูุฎููุงูู ุฅูุฐ ุณูุฑู
6. And the band above a bare plain of smooth pebbles,
Spotted, not finishing what the people began,

ููุณู ุงูุญูุตู
ุฃูุจูููู ูุง ูููุถู ุจููู ุงููููู

7. A paved road guiding to flowing water,
Pure, not muddied by turbidity.

ุชูููุฏููุฑูู ุงูุฏููุง
8. On its sides are rocky areas echoing,
Guiding the lost, veering wherever it turned aside,

ูููุฏู ุงูุถููููู ูููุชูุญู ุญููุซู ุงููุชูุญู
9. It has markings at the limit of vision.
They came from Egypt contending with the wilderness,

ูุตุฑู ููุจุงุฑููู ุงูุจูุฑู
10. Complaining of wounds in the ribs and kidneys.
She asks her about her husband, โWhat kind of man?โ

ููุณุฃููููุง ุนูู ุจูุนูููุง ุฃูููู ููุชู
11. A cowardly fool, and when hungry he cries,
He neither gathered wood for the people nor watered them,

12. Nor sought the peopleโs lost mounts if they strayed,
Nor covers his private part when he urinates,

ูููุง ูููุงุฑู ููุฑุฌููู ุฅูุฐุง ุงูุตุทูู
13. And eats dates but doesnโt throw away the pits,
As if he were a waterskin filled with pebbles

ููุฃูููููู ุบูุฑุงุฑูุฉู ู
ููุฃู ุญูุซู
14. When he saw the sand and dripping trees of al-Ghadha
And the cattle with brands on their sides,

ูุง ุฑูุฃู ุงูุฑูู
ูู ููููุฒุงูู ุงูุบูุตุง
ููุงูุจูููุฑ ุงูู
ูููู
ููุนุงุชู ุจูุงูุดููู
15. He cried and said, โDo you see what I see?
Is there no end to this long journey?โ
ูกูฅ. ุจููู ูููุงูู ููู ุชูุฑูููู ู
ุง ุฃูุฑู
ุฃููููุณู ูููุณููุฑู ุงูุทููููู ู
ููุชููู
16. I said, โI will console my companion! Yes indeed!
If the journey is long and the knots of tent ropes loosen,
ูกูฆ. ูููุชู ุฃูุนูุฒูู ุตุงุญูุจู ุฃููุง ุจููู
ุฅูู ููุทููู ุงูุณููุฑู ููุชูููุงุถู ุงูุนูุฑู
17. You see a man shrink with the shrinking of a waterskin
When the patch is bent onto the leather bottle

ุฑูุกุงู ููุญููุจู ุฅูุญูุงุจู ุงูุฎููุง
ุฅูููู ุฅูุฐุง ุงูุฌูุจุณู ุนููู ุงูููุฑู ุงููุซููู
18. And his ribs are bundled over the tent pegs.โ
So he said, โYou have announced my death.โ I said, โI see

ูุช ุฃูุตูุงุจููู ููููู ุงูุนูุฑู
ูููุงูู ุฃููุนูุชู ูููููุชู ููุฏ ุฃูุฑู
19. Either wealth will be asked in ransom but not paid,
Or the people will be neglected a little but not perish.
ูกูฉ. ุฃูู ููุณุฃููู ุงูู
ุงูู ููุฏุงุกู ูุง ุงููุชูุฏู
ุฃูู ููุบูููู ุงููููู
ู ูููููุงู ูุง ุงููููุถู
20. In the morning, the people will praise the journey
And the darkness of worries will disappear from them.โ
