If not for my sighing the healer wouldn't have built

3. Who can help me endure the separation of my beloved
Not even seekers of refuge and jinni were safe

4. She visited but I did not see a night before her rising
The sun of daytime appeared from behind the shelter

5. My love directs this arrow which comes
Walking to me while this gazelle spoke to me

6. O you who blame me, you may give advice
To make me accept this advice in my ear

7. I won't forget the path of love and its difficulties
As long as the bending branch remains

8. My ambitions never settled for lowly desires
Nor drew from the oceans of merit by guile

9. I never compromised below my resolve in battle
That drives the stallion despite the power of fate

10. If my burden of humiliation in a country lasts too long
Where the ignorant have reached the peak

11. I will leave pleasure as a neighbor though it contained
A melting tenderness towards glory alluring

12. No whip strikes it unless welcoming
Directing it towards the good waters and meadows

13. Like the rigid their feet never stepped
Without my fearing they would stumble over ruins

14. Sleep avoids me in the time of my affliction
As if my eye were my body and affliction my homeland

15. I fear her rejection so her harshness appears
As if she were newly named after my father Al-Hassan
