1. O my soul, you have become isolated,
From the one whose memory distressed you and kept you awake.

2. From the one you yearn for, even though you have become unresponsive,
You are not satisfied, even if left alone.

3. The reasons for your death have been made clear,
At a time decreed by Allah.

4. The beautiful gazelle, when it appears
Walking gracefully between the houses.

5. O camel, will you quench my thirst before death,
With the cup of life? Yes o camel, if you wish.

6. You revived a soul, as you protected it,
From the sharpened arrows of death that surround it.
