1. The people have persisted in their banners
And Abu Al-Hindi in the land of Ziyan

2. An abode which brings down whoever settles in it
Wine and adultery become licit therein

3. Indeed life is but a charming damsel
While I sit consecrated in a tavern

4. I drink wine and disobey those who prohibit
Seeking pleasure and beautiful white women

5. In my life is a delight I am distracted with
And when I die, my time will have passed
