To whom He wills and deprives whom He wills.

27. When the clouds are stingy with their water, he storms

Its landmarks blossomed and dwellings delighted.

29. It has become the most noble in the world
And how noble when it was desolate wilderness!

30. So he has over what is not found his equal
In every art, an undeniable witness.

And you clove the dress of nobility while it sparkled!

38. Until you became singular and everyone says,
“If that brilliant radiant one is named!”

39. Your enemies say in fear,
Like the fear when banners are unfurled.

40. So when you speak, every fierce lion of speech
Is a dreaded hearing if it could hear.

41. The rare poem is constantly raiding
The lands, penetrating countries and moving on.

42. A ruler whose hearing makes kings your followers
While over others, their permission is withheld.

43. They are always veiled but the veils
Were never lifted from them with good news.

44. You mounted the horse of high rank
Which no one besides you hoped to ride.

45. The hand of praise bejeweled you with a pearl
With which not every crown is adorned.

46. Your highness made every pillar for Kindah
Upon which al-Hadathan does not shake.

47. The sun of knowledge seemed to have risen for them
In reality, an era of illumination rose for you!

48. If Aad returned, his worth would still fall below yours
And he would be the first of your followers!

49. You are time, besides you there is no one sought
By seekers, and besides you there is no shelter!

50. People are either an intelligent listener
Or else an intelligent deaf person!

51. I devoted my allegiance submissively to the one praised
Besides you, for the star is lower than you!

52. None besides you is a pasture for poetry
No! Nor is the basin of eloquence a meadow!

53. The science of sciences by your palm’s grasp
Guides us to you and brings us together!

54. If horizons constrict around the needy
Then for him is a way to your bestowal made smooth!

55. And if the wind of discord blows fiercely
Take refuge in him, for mountains are a refuge from winds!
