1. I long for you like lightning in Greater Syria,

15. I live and die with memories and wishes -
For in passion lies my livelihood and sanctuary.

17. I surrendered to the judgment of passion, distracting me

Lightning flashes as clouds gather.

19. His generosity and piety resemble his father -
For noble sons are noble.

20. Through him enemies and allies scatter,
As deputations and enduring glory unite.

21. In ease, he is a rain cloud -
In hardship, a sword!

22. Gleaming is the honor of his visage and brow,
A conscientious archer, resolute in purpose.

23. He rises to events as fate is seated,
He sits where kings would stand!

24. The antelope sheds its weapons while bidding farewell,
As the sun takes the cloak off the ostrich.

25. If polished by the wipe, swords they become,
If furnished with blades, then arrows!

26. The lines appear as ranks of soldiers,
With dots as mounted warriors.

27. He hastens to the needy, intentional with the sword,
And stays up cautiously while people sleep!

28. He is the full moon whose light,
Did not touch the gloomy nights.

29. He refused the people be led by another,
For leaders act as backbones do!

30. He oversees enemies on all fronts,
No wonder the brave takes the highest view!

31. His gestures restrain calamities, and his gaze
Repels the army’s fiery youth!

32. His smile illuminates while dawn still looms,
He passes as the honored arrows shoot!

33. He gives generously, vanishing poverty,
Circulating money reaches its peak!

34. If from below his throne kindles resolved fire,
Then the kingdom finds comfort and peace!

35. And if we open our mouths as wide as his munificence,
Tomorrow hopes will unfold though fragmented!

36. So did your ears hear, before his generosity,
Such bounty no measure encircled?

37. And were there, like his hands, speakers
Whose words were never heard?

38. I swear had he not prevented and defended us,
The mountains would have leaned in and collapsed!

39. I am not one who denies a people their custom,
Even if an abode and glory became distant!

40. As long as the hands of fate do not tear our unity,
The mighty kingdom will not lose its system!

41. For fate is but a night and its morning,
And life - only wakefulness and sleep!

42. Nothing has kept us, so praised are those nights,
And the changing times cannot be blamed!

43. I will thank it - thankful as gardens -
For the hand of life flowing in vigour or in illness!

44. My rhythm softens and hardens in it, as though,
A breeze met with health and disease.

45. Like the blade of an Indian sword from which water pours,
As in both its edges, for illumination, lies gaping mouths!

Be it sojourn or settlement upon them!

47. You have honestly elevated my deepest thoughts -

48. Not all who eulogize your blessings have been virtuous,
