1. The feverish gazelles frighten the lions,
And the eyelids of the tearful hunt down the game.

2. They are the life givers from nearby and afar,
And the deadly ones whether settled or nomadic.

3. O sons of 'Aamir, return to us
The dark eyelids that you have taken away.

4. How many a foe have you let loose as prey,
And how many a beloved have you left stranded?

5. Were they swords you unsheathed
Or but a glance and spears you brandished?

6. Cry no more, my companion, nothing remains
After separation, nothing of my companion.

7. I see your flowing tears violent
Like your flowing tresses violent.

8. Can love restore one wandering distraught
Or can the intention return a heart so desolate?

9. Do not complain of what your eyelashes and heart have done,
Nor blame the timid gazelles.

10. Life's ardour scared them, so they took
The pact of fidelity - those binding pacts.

11. The springs of betrayal have forged armour
That was crumpled by the hands of youth.

12. Then the clouds cast their weapons so the days
Turned white after having been black.

13. She knitted its pearls into necklaces for a family
And she poured under them ample generosity.

14. So the gentle breeze is amazed by it
Scattering above the thickets those necklaces.

15. How many skies have brought out the stars' flowers
Rising over the repentant with good fortune.

16. Where the sun of the goblets travels with them
A full moon having risen from the Turks generously.

17. The green gardens display to the eyes
Narcissus and roses from the meadows' cheeks.

18. It has beautified the vista and freshened the air
When it rivaled the water and the earth smelled sweet.

19. The stallion of ardour flowed like a stallion, and I said:
"Increase O Yazid flowing youthfulness."

20. Every tender branch from the waist is generous
Under a meadow that casts sublime singing.

21. Among a pleaser, praiser, when the
Tunes inspire or a melodious one creates melody.

22. Its beauty cannot be attained even by the deer.
It is excellent, outshining even the deer.

23. None regard it as part of the eternal paradise
Except that one cannot attain eternity in it.

24. You will not find anything like it described
My religion is as unwavering as a pillar.

25. The one known for his reputation will not be found heedless
And the brave warrior will not fear destruction.

26. The splendor of his generosity rises and boils
With his gifts always plentiful.

27. Possessing gentleness he returns the youthful branch juvenile,
And possessing might he makes the newborn gray.

28. He gifts the killers and swimmers
The greetings and those who greet the firewood.

29. Every breast pining after the Gracious without cease
Or every potent one who destroys the contagious.

30. The provider prevents or grants
His presence always benficial.

31. For Abu al-Fath good tidings of victory
And openings when troops and delegations come.

32. Unique, benevolent, possessing awe and fear
A stock and countless assets.

33. He is busy receiving soldiers with resolve
As hearts stand around him like soldiers.

34. He freely gave freely until he enriched the poor
When he exalted the Exalted and gave life to one passed.

Ways and means that return to us

36. Hopes, wealth, enduring and reaping.
Wealth perishes while hostility of enemies endures

37. But it bestows glory that is eternal.

38. He is like justice in swords - receive it
Ready on the day of distress destroying.

39. He spread justice in the expanse so the earth
Became a pillow he furnished preparing.

40. He brought fear to lead except for what he possesses
The most generous of both worlds oft promising.

41. Of vast hearing who was not devoid of fortune
And success, victory and support.

42. O pilgrim of battle towering and stern
And life of the noble lofty in charity.

43. O sword wrathful in every ordeal
Where the blades of swords relate gloom.

44. Support of the realm who was night
That made the dawn in it pillars.

My support by which I repelled enemies

46. From my territory and fended off the envious.
With his sword he brought out our glory

47. In their hearts planting splendor.
Do not say I was unique in becoming

48. Praised in my eulogy made splendid.
Eulogy the nights will pass and expire

49. But seizes survival and eternity.
Like the delicate Indian scimitar

50. And the piercing battle sword acute.
The lucid meanings are like water

51. Whose nature splits open the solid.
The conclusive arguments hand over

52. To the keen arbitrator and Al-Walid.

53. I wish the censure of those blaming you were stones or iron
If they possessed any with them.

54. You promised me nights that did not fulfil
Promises while how many and which promises.

55. Prepare its war with your making peace
Then make the most auspicious Eid for the desolate dweller.
