1. He returned from a feast of union, though he had never left,
His spirit glided in, so welcome, welcome!

2. He is the full moon when it comes into my heart's home,
How can I not yearn for him when he's in my heart!

3. My worries were like darkness, until when
I was separated from him, then when he appeared, he appeared!

4. O you who froze my heart, if only you would be gentle with me,
You died from estrangement, though you gave life by union.

5. Whenever a place of blame comes between us,
I stay up crying over my ruin, while you laugh over my state!

6. And when will I be guided to the daybreak of your face,
Having become lost in the dawn radiance of your face!

7. Passion overwhelmed the lovers, and ardour
Resembles war in captivity and slaying.

8. So some hearts are strained by emaciation and sickness,
While other hearts are washed by torrents of tears.

9. And the crying eyes, how can they sleep when
The swords of his glance have pierced through the armor!

10. O spectacle of my eyes, he erred and left,
Does the spectacle of my eyes imagine that the spectacle keeps anything secret!

11. Make me drink anguish as wine, and halve me,
From him who parted from me and then turned away.

12. Whenever the thought of Sa'd comes into my mind,
My heart pours waves of tears upon tears.

13. Soothe me with your tender love, dress my wounds,
For my passion for the darkness of your eyes knows no medicine.

14. I warned you, when you left, of my sadness,
But passion departs not with warning!

15. And when the slanderers went too far in accusing me,
I did not care, for your love suffices me!

16. Where are those who blame me for loving them!
I make a new pledge to them in every dawn!

17. Perhaps they will be lenient with me, for I love them,
And will show love even if they intend rejection!

18. O you rulers of my heart, be gentle with me, for oppression
Is harsh even if it comes from the sultan!

19. I was happy in the kingdom of love and contentment,
And the homeland of my love was refuge and rest.

20. Let me roam around in these hard times,
Knowing that fate unravels even what is wound tight!

21. Hold on to patience firmly, for many affairs,
Hardships will ease after they amass.

22. Indeed, it's time for you to show grace to the weak
For he who shows no tenderness harms himself!

23. His sword, when battles intensified, was deadly,
And his kindness was refreshing shade when peace came.

24. He is the most noble in birth and in nature,
In ancient times and in these days is best!

25. Endless glory was decreed for him and fame is soaring,
None can fathom his power and his roots are blessed!

26. How many a stray did he guide and dispersed ones unite,
How many filled stomachs and naked ones dress!

27. A king who loves benevolence, never bored by it,
And the excuses of a lover do not bore him!

28. Praise him, for lofty traits were manifested in him,
Praise and many salutations suit him!

29. He captures the land with a robe of honor from him
Like the rain wherever it comes brings goodness!

30. His exerted efforts always hit their mark,
And the outpouring of his hands is never exhausted!

31. In war, his sword spreads misery,
And in peace, his hands pour forth goodness!

32. If he frowned at the stars, they would miss their orbits,
If his sword got angry at them, it would have excelled them!

33. He charges into the arena of war wearing a turtleneck,
For not all horse men excel wearing a turtleneck!

34. His stab, when war intensifies, finds its mark,
And if an intercessor interceded, he would judge!

35. O Imam of horsemen, if not for you, prostate submission
In prayer would not be obligatory if the sword submitted!

36. He enacted a law that refuses his sword
To be anything in his presence but forbidden or submitted!

37. Fate allowed me to be near you and fate
Is eternal, generous at both ends!

38. You reconciled both sides with justice, have you
Heard justice being mentioned before this!

39. You left the government of hypocrisy humiliated,
And its knights humiliated and miserable!

40. You stood up for true guidance, so I gained relief,
And you supported the call so the proof was established!

41. It's not the affliction, that showed me passion from love,
Nor have I cared to pack, to wander as an ascetic!

42. Estrangement has won me over, so I have shown patience,
And anguish has come over me, I have not said "stop"!

43. When your purpose became serious about an issue,
Make light of whatever incident becomes serious!

44. Stopped the hands of calamities from reaching me!
Those who seek refuge only have your hands, and had I not been certain, I would not have said this!

45. So the horses sprint to your connection,
Cutting across the lands hurriedly and gently!

46. They lose their saddles at a star of heavens, if it wished removal!
The ochre of the script has lost its good fortune sign,

47. And the red starched caps have lost their lodging!
O king of the elite, inheriting and earning it!

48. O prince of noblemen, in words and deeds!
If I do not regard your courtyard as my sanctum

49. Then it is higher than whoever else is out there!
Since my holy chalice is busy getting drunk with them

50. Then my exalted chalice is not getting drunk with the exalted!
Which poetry have I been granted the joy of hearing that is more gratifying than the joy of hearing!

51. All miracles, on land and sea, are his signs,
That are recited in your gathering places!

52. Every meaning is so elegant and words so refined,
Bringing joy and beauty to the hearts!

53. As if the proverbs therein roam the land,
Until you see in them proof just for you!

54. Some that are strongly repelling draw you near,
While others are gently captivating with beauty!

55. Made for one who contemplates beauty,
And for one who most excellently understands reason!

56. None but your love dictated them pace by pace,
None but your majesty split them, rising supreme!

57. What hunter has gained anything from them
And what sick one hasn't gained health from them!

58. They bring happiness to all with you, days passing by
Gathering you without changing them!

59. When you descend, may peace be upon an abode you reside in,
And you pray in a place you alight!
