1. Her darkness was illuminated by tranquility
So her blossoming smile and joy grew

2. Spreading upon the wings of night are her gentle breezes
Lifting the veil of dawn from her morning radiance

3. The softness of her form is like my verse and diction
Her tears for the lost beloved disrupted her composure

4. She has an enchanting grace, if not for piety I'd be entranced
Were it not for passion, her wine I'd never have savored

5. Smooth and enchanting, her saliva and glances
A sun, a pearl - her face and speech

6. To her I was obedient, though she was cross
And her rebuke and blame I calmly accepted

7. Who could be patient with her ailing eyelids?
Or a longing soul that cannot endure her absence?

8. Nothing but fortitude in love can survive her
Or finding and adoring her, and the agony of passion

9. By God, my heart was hers to dwell in forever
My eyes reject sleep until I see her in my dreams

10. I have been afflicted by her captivating glances
The ruin of my heart - her people and her pillars

11. With languid limbs and sleepy eyes
She has bewitched my heart and body with her magic and sickness

12. Thoughts preoccupy her though she is distant
Indeed, she seduced only hearts with her beauty

13. My friend - has her house been spared grief?
Or have the stars folded their tents?

14. My body grows frail and patience fails me without her
As do prosperity and leadership after her are lost

15. She is the morning sun - without her, night extends
But my longing insists on prolonging her presence

16. Need drove me to complain of people, but I disdained
I will be patient - either she will be revealed or remain

17. Is this the first time that fate has bewildered me?
Honor's glory dispelled the darkness of its gloom

18. He destroys all mortal events - none can match his eternity
The savior of the soul - his sanctuary is inviolable

19. His awe spread throughout the earth - security followed him
So none feared but those who would oppose his authority

20. The valleys of his generosity poured forth for every outcast
Until they equaled the gifts and their completion

21. The horizon of the exalted rises after its setting because of him
While he remains beyond the heavens and their summit

22. His orchards captivated me like gardens in bloom
What are gardens but clouds embroidering their hems?

23. So I frequented the abode of glory, encircling its radiance
Indeed, the meadows of generosity have verdant beauty

24. For wealth is naught without the home he builds
Nor is the height of the exalted difficult for him to achieve

25. From him the caliphate fashioned a sheltering garden
Impenetrable before and behind due to his support

26. Through him its pillars were strengthened after ruin
It stood tall - without him its standing would have faltered

27. He is but its edge, its hosts and its blade
He is but its defender and its sharpened sword

28. If another is called sovereign before this lord
He is but a cloud bursting from the stormy sky

29. Undoubtedly, there are many swords
But none match the fury and flash of his blade

30. The champion of an Imam whose rule spanned the earth
Master of a world held tight in his grip

31. Neither timid of confrontation nor cowardly in combat
Unequaled in valor, unique in his attack

32. To his enemies, his clouds are thunderous
While for those who seek refuge, they are serene and harmonious

33. Through him, time and its people are exalted
Without his spears, the heavens are incomplete

34. If the stars gained ascendance seeking his rank
Their throngs would frustrate those who question his supremacy

35. When his swords bow down in battle
Their pommels fall prostrate amidst the fury

36. The dawn upon that land is but their faces
The night upon its expanse is their darkness

37. Nobles who in life had lofty souls
Became, in the dust of graves, revered bones

38. Granting abundance when they bestow
Withholding when wrathful, their flames a blazing inferno

39. If the gift of God flows from his right hand
Naught remains of the deluge but remnants and rubble

40. If he graces the breast of time, he is its beloved
If he captures the heart of an army, he becomes its obsession

41. With his blessings, a necklace was fashioned for me
One Baghdad could not be without his command

42. With him, among the land's vast terrains
I found a Syria - while Egypt and Levant fell short

43. To him belongs the Sacred House and its Corner
Its mash'ar in the Hijaz and its station

44. He is the Secure Handhold whom all events fear to unravel
Without his cohesion, the appointed times would have no order

45. The Lamp of God's religion amidst His servants
Without him, its solutions and prohibitions would fail

46. I will adorn them with the jewels of praise
Like pearls strung evenly upon a necklace

47. They are the unbound, the independent through his generosity
If unleashed, they would destroy the horizon's expanse

48. Gardens of meaning, treasuries of diction
Depositories of the light, concealed by their reserve

49. Only raised by them were its curtains
Only through their seeds was its seal opened
