1. I'm imprisoned, and my cell has become my companion,
Suffering from illness, my ribs are counted.

2. I seek cure with patience from sickness,
But my remedy did not avail.

3. The doctor came to no purpose,
And the intercessor came but did not intercede.

4. And it was said, extend the patience,
Whatever befalls you, do not despair.

5. And how much has the patience been extended,
If I increase its extension, it gets cut off.

6. And when my incarcerator had mercy,
They answered the tears' intercession.

7. But they met a knot,
In my matter that exhausts the shining Almae.

8. The Lebanese government reviewed,
France to release me but did not succeed.

9. And France went to the British,
To ask them, the most honorable authority.

10. And the British reviewed Iraq,
But the matter remains unresolved till today.
