1. O son of Abu Jarir, you have wronged me
With cruelty, leaving no respite for me

2. You launched your arrows at me from afar
Yet now is not the time to hoard your missiles

3. No, by your father, a people cannot prevail
If they do not take ropes from us

4. Our bareness, though they be many and mighty
Will not make our long hands recoil

5. The fluttering one, cradling his hands,
Will not avail the sons of Khatfah a thing

6. We block him from grazing until
He spends all or dies emaciated

7. So enter not the abodes of Banu Kulayb
Nor go near their encampments ever

8. You will find shining sabers therein
That almost blinded the eyes of men

9. Short of stature, shunning all good
Galloping wildly into evil
