1. And a saying to Abdullah, what ails you, sing for us
Of Tuktam or of Mary the daughter of Imran
١. وَقولا لِعَبدِ اللَهِ وَيحَكَ غَنِّنا
بِتُكتَمَ أَو بِنتِ الحَوارِيِّ مَريَما
2. Two white maidens smiled beautifully
Upon the inhabitants of the world, youthfully
٢. فَتاتانِ بَيضاوانِ بِالحُسنِ راقَتا
عَلى ساكِنِ الدُنيا بَناناً وَمَبسِما
3. They divided in half, so half in Mecca
And half for the people of Al-Ghawr, however you divide
٣. تَقَسَّمَتا نِصفَي فَنِصفٌ بِمَكَّةٍ
وَنِصفٌ لِأَهلِ الغَورِ فيمَن تُقُسِّما
