Among them were Al-Qa', Al-Abwa, and lonely places

4. Extending to Ta'ahin and As-Suqya
Barren places after the people of Abd Shams left

5. I saw them during the seasons coming
As young men, achievers, and splendid folk

6. And beautiful women like statues
Upon them beauty, vitality, and bashfulness

8. Appearing beautiful and tall like cypresses
Looking as gazelles look at vegetation

9. Joyous living when my tribe was united
And their affairs not torn by passions

10. Before the tribes coveted Qurayshโ€™s reign
And the enemies rejoiced at that

11. O you who desire the demise of Quraysh
By God, their lifespan and demise belong to Him

12. If Quraysh were to bid farewell to the lands
No living tribe after them would remain

13. If you were to forsake people, they would be
Like sheep taken by wolves when shepherds are absent

14. Do you see anyone immortal besides God?
While things pass away, He remains

15. People have hope for tomorrow while fate

16. We did not remain safe as people envied us
And prosperity flowed abundantly to us

17. So we were content, and may your affliction die
And no other malady take your life

The lion of God and the splendid model

21. And Ali, Ja'far of the two wings
The successor and the martyrs are there

22. And Az-Zubayr, who answered God's Messenger
During hardship and tribulation with tribulation

23. And he who soured Ibn Dumat's joy
As the devils and thirsty swords raged

24. So he made Iraq permissible to strike them with the sword
Delivering blows amidst the striking while valor peaked

ูขูค. ููŽุฃูŽุจุงุญูŽ ุงู„ุนูุฑุงู‚ูŽ ูŠูŽุถุฑูุจูู‡ูู… ุจูุงู„
ุณูŽูŠูู ุตูŽู„ุชุงู‹ ูˆูŽููŠ ุงู„ุถูุฑุงุจู ุบูŽู„ุงุกู

25. They were absent from terrifying regions
Where only swords could bring comfort

ูขูฅ. ุบููŠู‘ูุจูˆุง ุนูŽู† ู…ูŽูˆุงุทูู†ู ู…ููุธูุนุงุชู
ู„ูŽูŠุณูŽ ููŠู‡ุง ุฅูู„ุง ุงู„ุณููŠูˆููŽ ุฑูŽุฎุงุกู

26. Yet they strove to diminish you, but God refused
Except what He sees and wills

ูขูฆ. ููŽุณูŽุนูˆุง ูƒูŽูŠ ูŠูููŽู„ู‘ูู„ูˆูƒูŽ ูˆูŽูŠูŽุฃุจู‰ ุงู„ู€
ู€ู„ูŽู‡ู ุฅูู„ู‘ุง ุงู„ู‘ูŽุฐูŠ ูŠูŽุฑู‰ ูˆูŽูŠูŽุดุงุกู

27. Enviously when they saw you distinguished by God
With what the prominent were distinguished

ูขูง. ุญูŽุณูŽุฏุงู‹ ุฅูุฐ ุฑูŽุฃูŽูˆูƒูŽ ููŽุถู‘ูŽู„ูŽูƒูŽ ุงู„ู„ูŽู€
ู€ู‡ู ุจูู…ุง ููุถู‘ูู„ูŽุช ุจูู‡ู ุงู„ู†ูุฌูŽุจุงุกู

28. So you went out following their guidance
And your goal was not pretension

ูขูจ. ููŽุนูŽู„ู‰ ู‡ูŽุฏูŠูู‡ูู… ุฎูŽุฑูŽุฌุชูŽ ูˆูŽู…ุง ุทูุจ
ุจููƒูŽ ููŠ ุงู„ู„ูŽู‡ู ุฅูุฐ ุฎูŽุฑูŽุฌุชูŽ ุงู„ุฑููŠุงุกู

29. Whether you live, it will be with prosperity, and if you die
It will be like the dispersion of clouds

ูขูฉ. ุฅูู† ุชูŽุนูุด ู„ุง ู†ูŽุฒูŽู„ ุจูุฎูŽูŠุฑู ูˆูŽุฅูู† ุชูŽู‡

30. Mus'ab is but a meteor from God
Darkness lifted from his face

31. His reign is one of power, not of
Tyranny, nor arrogance

32. He is mindful of God in all matters
And one whose concern is righteousness succeeds

33. God knows the worth of a tribe that wants
To degrade you and bring wretchedness

ูฃูฃ. ุฅูู†ู‘ูŽ ู„ูู„ู‘ูŽู‡ู ุฏูŽุฑู‘ูŽ ู‚ูŽูˆู…ู ูŠูุฑูŠุฏูˆ
ู†ูŽูƒูŽ ุจูุงู„ู†ูŽู‚ุตู ูˆูŽุงู„ุดูŽู‚ุงุกู ุดูŽู‚ุงุกู

34. After God honored you with integrity
And your enemies scattered

ู€ู‚ูŽ ูˆูŽู‡ูŽุฑู‘ูŽุช ูƒูู„ุงุจูŽูƒูŽ ุงู„ุฃูŽุนุฏุงุกู

35. And there are men whose names I would mention if you wish
Among us are the judges and the scholars

ูฃูฅ. ูˆูŽุฑูุฌุงู„ูŒ ู„ูŽูˆ ุดูุฆุชูŽ ุณูŽู…ู‘ูŽูŠุชูŽู‡ูู… ู…ูู†ู€
ู€ู†ุง ูˆูŽู…ูู†ู‘ุง ุงู„ู‚ูุถุงุฉู ูˆูŽุงู„ุนูู„ูŽู…ุงุกู

36. Among them is Suhayl ibn โ€˜Amr of enduring pact
Protecting a neighbor when alliance was cherished

ูฃูฆ. ู…ูู†ู‡ูู…ู ุฐูˆ ุงู„ู†ูŽุฏู‰ ุณูู‡ูŽูŠู„ู ุจู†ู ุนูŽู…ุฑูˆู
ุนูุตู…ูŽุฉู ุงู„ุฌุงุฑู ุญูŠู†ูŽ ุญูุจู‘ูŽ ุงู„ูˆูŽูุงุกู

37. He sheltered his in-laws of Khuzaโ€™ah
When many living settled Makkah

ูฃูง. ุญุงุทูŽ ุฃูŽุฎูˆุงู„ูŽู‡ู ุฎูุฒุงุนูŽุฉูŽ ู„ูŽู…ู‘ุง
ูƒูŽุซูŽุฑูŽุชู‡ูู… ุจูู…ูŽูƒู‘ูŽุฉูŽ ุงู„ุฃูŽุญูŠุงุกู

38. When the Messenger said "Depart," they departed
Laying down the law plainly without secrecy

ูฃูจ. ุญูŠู†ูŽ ู‚ุงู„ูŽ ุงู„ุฑูŽุณูˆู„ู ุฒูˆู„ูˆุง ููŽุฒุงู„ูˆุง
ุดูŽุฑูŽุนูŽ ุงู„ุฏูŠู†ูŽ ู„ูŽูŠุณูŽ ููŠู‡ู ุฎูŽูุงุกู

39. And men of the Ahabish were entitled to blood-money
From those who were endowed with blood

ูฃูฉ. ูˆูŽุฑูุฌุงู„ูŒ ู…ูู†ูŽ ุงู„ุฃูŽุญุงุจูŠุดู ูƒุงู†ูŽุช
ู„ูŽู‡ูู…ู ููŠ ุงู„ู‘ูŽุฐูŠู†ูŽ ุญุงุทูŽ ุฏูู…ุงุกู

40. And the one Quraysh was made to drink his love
Upon him may a beloved shroud be bestowed

41. Abu Al-Fadl and his son, the religious scholar, Abdillah
If the jurists err in judgment, they reprimand

ูคูก. ูˆูŽุฃูŽุจูˆ ุงู„ููŽุถู„ู ูˆูŽุงูุจู†ูู‡ู ุงู„ุญูุจุฑู ุนูŽุจุฏู ุงู„ู€

42. And he who if he gestures a slap at you
A retaliating champion and Atta would follow

43. And the erudite intellectuals counted
When the people are steeped in dark ignorance

ูคูฃ. ูˆูŽุงู„ุจูุญูˆุฑู ุงู„ู‘ูŽุชูŠ ุชูุนูŽุฏู‘ู ุฅูุฐุง ุงู„ู†ุง
ุณู ู„ูŽู‡ูู… ุฌุงู‡ูู„ููŠู‘ูŽุฉูŒ ุนูŽู…ูŠุงุกู

44. They feed the poor from the rugged hillsides
Who sought shelter on the flat lands

ูคูค. ูŠูุทุนูู…ูˆู†ูŽ ุงู„ุณูŽุฏูŠููŽ ู…ูู† ู‚ูŽุญุฏู ุงู„ุดูŽูˆ
ู„ู ู…ูŽู† ุขูˆูŽุช ุฅูู„ูŽูŠู‡ูู…ู ุงู„ุจูŽุทุญุงุกู

45. From ample bowls as if they were rewards
Pouring forth like the flooding of valleys

ูคูฅ. ููŠ ุฌููุงู†ู ูƒูŽุฃูŽู†ู‘ูŽู‡ูู†ู‘ูŽ ุฌูŽูˆุงุจู
ู…ูุชุฑูŽุนุงุชู ูƒูŽู…ุง ุชูŽููŠุถู ุงู„ู†ูู‡ุงุกู

46. They are the beloved ones in the garb of Yemen
In them are grace and splendor

47. They swore, "We will never cease to feed what
The north winds and morning breezes blow"

48. And Iyadh is from us, Iyadh ibn Ghanam
Who was the best of what women begot

49. My eyes, so weep for Quraysh - will what is gone
Return if you cry with weeping?

50. A people whose demise was by the swords of Bani Hillat
Fearing that the banner would be lost

ูฅู . ู…ูŽุนุดูŽุฑูŒ ุญูŽุชููู‡ูู… ุณููŠูˆูู ุจูŽู†ูŠ ุงู„ุนูŽู„ู€
ู€ู„ุงุชู ูŠูŽุฎุดูŽูˆู†ูŽ ุฃูŽู† ูŠูŽุถูŠุนูŽ ุงู„ู„ููˆุงุกู

51. He left his head like a worn-out waterskin
Setbacks carrying the news to and fro

ูฅูก. ุชูŽุฑูŽูƒูŽ ุงู„ุฑูŽุฃุณูŽ ูƒูŽุงู„ุซูŽุบุงู…ูŽุฉู ู…ูู†ู‘ูŠ

52. Like the impact of feet, misfortune befell us
While people felt indifferent to what afflicted us
