1. The loved ones left and you were saddened
And yearning broke your heart

2. It reminded you of the dwellings
A dwelling in Ruqayya lies in ruins

3. In it the neighing of steeds
And tents erected tall

4. Our neighbors sang, so we came
With vessels overflowing poured

5. And it separated between our people
The ancient rancor and wrath

6. And Quraysh had known
We are a branch, when they claim ancestry

7. Cavalry in their ranks
And horsemen when they ride

8. My uncles the Bani Layth
And the honor of their women exalted

9. They who denied Tihama refuge
Where some of the Arabs take shelter

10. An era the Almighty denied in it
The lowly and hastened their flight
