1. The vineyards of Zabadani abound,
Yet they have become for the unworthy.
١. وَبِالزَّبَدانِيِّ الكُرومُ كَثيرَةٌ
وَلكِنَّها أَضحَت لِغَيرِ كرامِ
2. If only they guarded their honour like guarding it,
By God's life, they would not be so ignoble.
٢. وَلَو حَفِظوا أَعراضَهُم مِثلَ حفظِها
لَكانوا لَعَمرُ اللهِ غَيرَ لِئامِ
