1. If Egypt alone has sent forth Pharaoh
From Syria, exalted and displaying a law,

2. Then Egypt has cast upon us just one
Seen as a thousand Pharaohs, and we have no Moses.

3. So we sent him as a refuge for villains and knaves
And our Lord hastily rained down on him Moses.

4. The arrogance of Nimrod son of Canaan puffed up his nose,
So would that the vengeance of God be on him a Moses!

5. He bent till the tall trees, pretending
To attain what he desires, devious and with laws.
