1. O you who are a companion to people of virtue,
The best of those called human,

2. You surpassed all youths while you are the youth
Who enslaved many youths.

3. It is no wonder that I recount your praises, O
Muhammad, most benevolent and most proficient in praise.

4. In poetry you left Walid Abu
Ubadah behind, outweighing the scale,

5. Turning away from mentioning a beloved, Abi
Tamam, fearing any decrease.

6. Indeed Labid is the foolish one whose
Poetry does not perfectly praise you.

7. So is Ubayd in his poetry, he has become
Ubayd wherever he may be.

8. And the misguided king in his misguidance
When you surpassed him in grace and faith.

9. And whoever extols the virtues of Banu
Umayya's chiefs is undoubtedly foolish.

10. O you who sermonized in Al-Quds, you who became
More eloquent than Quss and Suhban.

11. You presented verses that told of the
Throne of Bilqis when she met Solomon.

12. I kissed every verse from it as
The delegation kissed the corners of the House.

13. Live, O Glory of the Faith, in an
Apparent blessing, secretly and openly.

14. O best composer of poetry and reciter
Of Quran from the pulpit.

15. My inadequate verses came to you
Seeking pardon and forgiveness.
