1. A girl whose beauty spread far and wide
Among whom one who's asked gives license
١. وَفَتاةٍ حُسنُها عَمَّ وَخَصَّ
فيهِ مَن يُستَفتَ أَفتى بِالرُخَص
2. With eyes that robbed our minds
So legends about her were raised
٢. بِعُيونٍ سَلَبَت أَلبابَنا
فَإِلَيها رُفِعَت مِنها القَصَص
3. Coquettish languorous charmers when they chime
For them is hunting, prey and stalk
٣. فاتِناتٍ فاتِراتٍ إِن رَنَت
فَلَهُنَّ الصيدُ صَيدٌ وَقَنَص
4. A little girl whose scarf drapes over
Her slender waist and jingling anklet
٤. طِفلَةٌ جالَ وِشاحاها عَلى
خَصرِها الناحِلِ وَالخَلخالُ غَصّ
5. Not like the rosebud mouth opening teasingly
Over its like in a sea never fished before
٥. لا وَدُرِّ الثَغرِ مُفتَرّاً عَلى
مِثلِهِ في بَحرِ كيشٍ لَم يُغَص
6. And bubbles of wine in the goblet when
The ewer gurgles into it and sways
٦. وَحَبابِ الراحِ في الكَأسِ إِذا
قَهقَهَ الإِبريقُ فيهِ وَرَقَص
7. And my fresh youth its charm still intact
With shady thick shade and scarce
٧. وَشَبابي غَضَّةً أَفنانُهُ
وَلَهُ ظِلٌّ ظَليلٌ وَقَلَص
