5. When you frown in wonder, you shake a lance
To stab me right through my frame

7. Your cheek is like a breeze scented
With musk sealed in its scent

8. So why kill me for love lawful
Nor unite me in love forbidden

9. He tempted me, a tender slave
Though many a freeman is owned by a lad

11. With his frowning eyes I made excuses
But excuses left and blame remained

Gloomy, while passion consumes me

14. So, people, he who I’d ransom my soul for
Is disdainful, no way to make amend

15. Slender waist yet ample rear
Lush, its knot none can unbind

16. By his shapely neck, patience snapped
From my saddened heart all composure fled

17. When he wore his coat girded
His lips like buds behind his kerchief

18. There heroes fall lifeless
Slain by his listless eyes

19. Did he, bored of Eden’s gardens, flee
When Rizwan slept? Or is this but a dream?

20. His cheeks are like fire, so my fire
And inner blaze are stirred by them

21. I say to my love-mad, sleepless heart,
What makes you delirious with joy?

22. When I recall him, it feels like
I host an idol within me

23. Arrows of his gaze never miss their mark
Like shots from his frowning brow

24. Like the bow of the most noble king
Doves fly from it to foe

25. When he draws the bowstring with his right hand
Clouds conceal his bow through modesty

As if it were Zamzam and the Holy Mosque

28. His palm gives while his stomach receives
His palm welcomes while his stomach takes

29. They crush each other to kiss his hands
As they crush each other to touch the Stone

30. The water of bashfulness shows in his cheeks
While the Imam drinks from the Fountain of Life

31. Kings of earth follow behind him in prayer
Each a follower with him the imam

32. So soon you will see regiments approach
With vile hordes drawn near

33. They are red camels bellowing in fear
Of the lions, while to birds they are food

34. Stallions trample them mercilessly
Biting them in twos and threes

35. The flames and heat of his sword
Roast and burn them, fry and grill

36. With it Burraq charges into the fray
Goaded to battle by lightning’s flash

37. Iraq, Egypt, Mosul and Damascus covet him
As do all capitals and Greater Syria

38. Never before did we see likes of his nobility
And generosity among the generous

39. He directs the mill of war and oils it
He's the bold horseman charging ahead

40. None match his skill with the sword
When it grows hot, none can withstand

41. Except the Exalted King, blessings upon him, that’s all.
They are the kings of earth, and both

42. On the day of battle have a ferocious army
Lions flee them fearful

43. As lionesses fled with cubs in tow
Like ostriches fled with their eggs

44. The brothers truly love each other
Even if marred when ill affects it

45. As for the Noble House, it held
Among kings a lofty position

46. And the Exalted King is so generous
Deeds recited gloriously among all

47. Wherever his fingers spread benefaction
No poverty or woes remain

48. Save Moses, Jesus, Salahuddin, and this poem ends
His hands encompass the world so all

49. Become as domesticated pigeons
Listen, Victoria, rhymes composed

50. To captivate the mind and confound convention
Written by one enraptured by you, made to forget
