1. His glance enchants with magic whispering
My fervent heart dissolved by his appearing

I feared its rhythm my breath away would bring

4. No flaw or fault in his perfection lies
None could with baseless claims his grace despise

5. A paragon of beauty he arose and in
Nobility and merit ranks the highest in

6. No spirited steed ever moved with grace
Equal to you, O noble of his race

7. When rams in rutting season ram and clash
You are the ram the rams around you dash

8. You charge and spend your vigor on the attack
To slake the thirst and hunger of our pack

9. The raiders return, their bags with loot stuffed full
After you helped them make successful haul

10. The sweat-drenched horses from the battle turn
Still splattered with the blood their hooves did churn

11. The righteous king, redeemer of our land
Beheld in you a champion, spear in hand

12. With your wise counsel, foes were pierced and gashed
Before the armies in the battle clashed

13. Our monarch’s arm you now have become
His bracelet and crown above his brow

14. A thousand you repel in panicked flight
A thousand you give joyous, beaming sight

15. You turned to fresh and sweet a bitter sea
Bringing forth pearls, not brine of misery

16. Your promise long delayed mocks my hope
And in its timing shows a twist and slope

17. Good news of it arrived, my wishes greeting
Yet still my care is comfort far from meeting

18. Fulfill it now, for you have torn asunder
And breached so many a fortress strong and wonder
