1. The beloved came, but I did not kiss his lips
Out of reverence and glorification.

2. Rather, I prostrated upon the tracks of his heels-
I kiss the sandal out of veneration for what is in it.

3. I wish the range of his feet were upon
My cheeks, protecting his sandals and pampering them.

4. What excellent feet they are that walked their range to me-
White hands I cannot count delivered them to me.
