1. Do not accompany the nights of debauchery, my friend
For neighbors take one another to task for faults

2. These are the traits of the descendants of Adam; indeed they
Are the fruits of every dark tree

3. And Allah does not seek from the defeated one
What the fruitless palm tree and its builder obtained

4. The youths struck the carpenter shop with sticks
A title passed down to their father the carpenter

5. Then they were violated by force as if
They fought while they did not protect the Messenger

6. So Quraysh broke the rules and fought
And for every soul in life there is defiance

7. I boycott, and do not boycott, and boycott, then do not
Boycott, so boycotting does not take your water away

8. And I see you frowning when you frown as a youth
A lesson, even if the rent does not please you

9. And if you give willingly in order to be compensated
Then you are traders in kindness

10. Tha’labah bin ‘Amr, whom no formidable man protected,
Nor did the wild animals, his neighbors

11. The thorns of Fazārah have returned, burning
And the stones of Dārim’s house have cracked
