1. Let not your gatherings lose their goodness
And be not like leather dried out in the sun
١. لا يَفقِدَن خَيرَكُم مُجالِسُكُم
وَلا تَكونوا كَأَنَّكُم سَبَخُ
2. Nor like people with no history
Who yesterday ate naught, today cook nothing
٢. وَلا كَقَومٍ حَديثُ يَومِهِمُ
ما أَكَلوا أَمسَهُم وَما طَبَخوا
