Or are we altogether in eternal darkness

3. The blind whose insights cannot find guidance
Or a seer forever with bleary eyes

4. A body tortured in life I thought
Feeling the envy of moldering bones

5. Swords may rest in their sheaths
And remain weary when undrawn

6. Who will lend me a body that feels no misery
But rather counts as dust or permafrost

7. A spirit once joined to a person remained
Both it and he in the grip of lingering illness

8. If you are a wind, o wind, lay still
Or if you are a flame, o flame, die down
