1. If she acts for the benefit of her child
Then command her and encourage her rule

2. And your most cherished garden, your bride, has agreed
To your satisfaction, so enjoy its fruits

3. This world is not for the meek
So do not trust it, you know its ways

4. I do not praise the white camel that drinks the pure milk
And gives it to her young, leaving the burning coals

5. For a journey to the shrine and plains where she throws her ropes
Her home is more deserving than the Kaaba

6. When she finishes her Hajj and Umrah
When she drinks wine, I cannot trust

7. That a seducer will not unveil her veil
For with the cup she has shed every beautiful garment

8. And cast off her modesty
Her affection went to the rising moon

9. And she did not spare her dice for vinegar
The best women guard their honor

10. Before their horses guard their tents
I remain immersed in affairs and have not ceased

11. To traverse its darkness or plumb its depths
Better than the strings of a drinking party is a she-ostrich

12. Who repeats her song in the vast plain
