1. If you persist in extreme foolishness
Then O denier, witness that I am no denier
١. إِذا كُنتَ مِن فَرطِ السِفاهِ مُعَطِّلاً
فَيا جاحِدُ اِشهَد أَنَّني غَيرُ جاحِدِ
2. I fear the punishment of Allah in due time
And I believe all matters are in the hands of the One
٢. أَخافُ مِنَ اللَهِ العُقوبَةَ آجِلاً
وَأَزعُمُ أَنَّ الأَمرَ في يَدِ واحِدِ
3. For I have seen the atheists who become habituated
To regret at the striking of the final hour
٣. فَإِنّي رَأَيتُ المُلحِدينَ تَعودُهُم
نَدامَتُهُم عِندَ الأَكُفِّ اللَواحِدِ
