1. Reason informs me that I am in a swamp
Of falsehood, and so too is this world
١. العَقلُ يُخبِرُ أَنَّني في لُجَّةٍ
مِن باطِلٍ وَكَذاكَ هَذا العالَمُ
2. Like stones in preaching are our hearts
Or like iron, if only we did not grieve
٢. مِثلَ الحِجارَةِ في العِظُاتِ قُلوبُنا
أَو كَالحَديدِ فَلَيتَنا لا نَألَمُ
