1. The doctor and astrologer never cease
Wielding their calendars and almanacs,
١. إِنَّ الطَبيبَ وَذا التَنجيمِ ما فَتِئا
مُشَهَّرَينِ بِتَقويمٍ وَكُنّاشِ
2. Giving reasons while fabricating causes,
And swaying the heart of the heedless rake.
٢. يُعَلِّلانِ وَفي التَعليلِ مَأرَبَةٌ
وَيَستَميلانِ قَلبَ المُترَفِ الناشي
