1. Long ago I hated death, and God is my witness,
And I have lived long enough for my temples to whiten,
2. And I reckon that if it came to me I would refuse it,
And from my Lord is my aid and my resource.
3. When the dust comes to cover me, then leave me,
And with what I'm in, I've been sufficed provision.
