1. Praise be to Allah, I have attained tranquility,
I am content with little and do not worry about livelihood,
١. الحَمدُ لِلَّهِ قَد أَصبَحتُ في دَعَةٍ
أَرضى القَليلَ وَلا أَهتَمُّ بِالقوتِ
2. And my Creator knows that prayer to Him
Is more precious to me than my pearls and rubies,
٢. وَشاهِدٌ خالِقي أَنَّ الصَلاةَ لَهُ
أَجَلُّ عِندِيَ مِن دُرّي وَياقوتي
3. I do not socialize with people of this age, for they are
Whether associated with a beloved or hated one,
٣. وَلا أُعاشِرُ أَهلَ العَصرِ إِنَّهُمُ
إِن عوشِروا بَينَ مَحبوبٍ وَمَمقوتِ
4. Time passes me and others swiftly
To an appointed term of life.
٤. يَسيرُ بي وَبِغَيري الوَقتُ مُبتَدِراً
إِلى مَحَلٍّ مِنَ الآجالِ مَوقوتِ
