1. Troubles have afflicted one who still suffers,
His brother has been released and every palm and arm freed,

2. There is nothing above this earth except one made ready
For a care nearly matching in guesses and differing,

3. When serious affairs help a man against his foe,
And there is no good in brothers unless they give support,

4. The zealous may cease to rise into the fray
And the steadfast refrain from the abodes of women,

5. So if you are generous let it come from you unrestricted
And honor him without binding him to conditions,

6. Happiest is a cloud that rains upon the land in plenty,
A downpour has watered it amid the roar of thunder,

7. Verily death's descent cannot be absent
And it lays low the eminent lords of high renown.
