1. After Safar comes the month of Rajab

O you with little wit, if you are graced with reason

7. Then question it, for all reason is prophetic

8. What Al-Karkhi and Al-Halabi has narrated
My drink is cool water, and that suffices me

9. While your grape drink does not delight
I am satisfied with what adorns my two cheeks

10. When your golden cup is adorned
Your two captives tempted you, one white

11. And one red, from the vineyards of captives
This one was brought from Sumar, while yours

12. From Sufar, whose father is flaming
An overwhelming fate and an ancient matter

13. The lowly and the high are made equal
A difference from an element of harmony

14. The black and the Arab are made equal
The yellow ones of Qais deceived you
