1. Nights that do not awaken from afflictions,
Alas for its wonders that make me cry out.
١. لَيالٍ ما تُفيقُ مِنَ الرَزايا
فَوَيحي مِن عَجائِبِها وَوَيبي
2. Its lions have become ferocious lions again,
And its wolves have killed my father Dhuwayb.
٢. أَعادَت أُسدُها أَسَداً أَكيلاً
وَأَودى ذِئبُها بِأَبي ذُؤَيبِ
