1. I found the spoils of Islam looted
By the owners of music and frivolity
١. وَجَدتُ غَنائِمَ الإِسلامِ نَهباً
لِأَصحابِ المَعازِفِ وَالمَلاهي
2. And how can ignorant people agree
When they do not agree on God
٢. وَكَيفَ يَصُحُّ إِجماعُ البَرايا
وَهُمُ لا يَجمَعونَ عَلى الإِلَهِ
3. My self entices me to passions
So neither I nor it will succeed forever
٣. تُنازِعُني إِلى الشَهواتِ نَفسي
فَلا أَنا مُنجَحٌ أَبَداً وَلا هي
