1. My body has been worn down by the passing years
So let the soul seek a dwelling to replace it

2. It has done no wrong nor good
And remains disputatious in its ways

3. People cannot fix what the sun has revealed
Nor what the night has hidden in its darkness

4. The unjust lack nothing in their eyes
Though they are far from justice

5. Al-Uloowi Al-Basri was the most knowing of them
Though their minds testify against him
