1. Your world and the pigeons are of one rank
Outside is sadness, inside as well
١. دُنياكَ وَالحَمامُ في رُتبَةٍ
مِن خارِجٍ غَمٌّ وَمِن داخِلِ
2. It did not purify, but defiled and became tarnished
By the Lord Most Generous and the miser
٢. ما طَهَّرَت بَل دَنَّسَت وَاِرتَمَت
بِالسَيِّدِ الوَهّابِ وَالباخِلِ
3. If life were emptied, it would gain
Nothing but death by the hand of the miser
٣. لَو نُخِلَ العَيشُ لَما حَصَّلَت
شَيئاً سِوى المَوتِ يَدُ الناخِلِ
