1. Patience, for from the place where pebbles are disgraced
Pearls are honored in their settings

2. We are Allah's servants in His land
Yet the free are more needy than the enslaved

3. By the grace of our Master and His kindness
Distress and harm are wiped from us

4. Does not man see in himself
Signs of a Lord, all wonders

5. In his mouth, sweet, and in his eye
Salt, and in his hearing, bitter

6. Our death repulses us to the Resurrection if
Their Creator says to them "Return"

7. One after another we pass
As if we are wheat and graves

8. And time is enough for you, but in
Your nature is to hoard worries

9. Your children, O world, on a whim
If they were not fooled by you, they would not be joyous

10. Such are the decrees - so for him is
Scorching heat, and for him is chill
