1. Alas! Do not be astonished at the vicissitudes of fate,
In the mountains and rocks shaped by time’s adversity.

2. And the land ruined by the treacherous departing friend,
Whose flight destroyed the homes like collapsing rocks.

3. Men of experience were never anything
But kings with ambitions and prideful boasting.

4. Your foolish journey as a nomad in the days of ignorance
Leads you to barren wastelands and rugged lands.

5. And whoever hoards wealth for longevity,
His provisions are with Allah, the best hoard.
