1. O tree above my grave, give me no shade
Rather, its shade is for my visitors

2. What happens to a body as it decays
Buried below soil and stones?

3. Will a friend visit whom I used to give
My affection and first choice of abode?

4. Or is it human nature that when buried
The thoughts of friends and neighbours forget the deceased?

5. So let my companion forget me, for God remembers me
And to Him I devoted my declarations and secrets

6. And I do not acquit myself today of blames
But I returned to a Forgiving and Veiling God

7. My dear tree, then remember the news
Of those I left behind whose news escaped me

8. And receive the birds - maybe among the tribe
A pigeon will squawk with my poetry's tune

9. It came to the tower I'd prepared it for sometime
Thinking it was among the best of my catch

10. I gave it love from my palms to peck
And from my mouth I whistled water into its beak

11. The soul in birds or men is one
I am inspired if I gain any recollection from it

12. Either enter Heaven or Hell
